District Announcements
Superintendent Dr. David J. Peterson's September Letter

Dear Scottsdale Unified School District Family,

The 2014-15 school year is off to a great start! It is hard to believe that we are already done with our first month of school. During the first few days of school, I was able to visit every school in the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD). Great things are going on in our classrooms – thank you all for a positive start to the new school year. Additionally, members of my Leadership Team visited campuses to help ensure an excellent beginning. It is great to see everyone working together on behalf of students.
See the September Letter.
SUSD Offers PSAT/NMSQT for All Sophomores and Juniors
On Wednesday, October 29th Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) will be offering the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) to sophomores and juniors at all five SUSD high schools during the school day.

Sophomores in SUSD high schools will have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT at no cost to parents. “By offering the PSAT/NMSQT to all sophomores at no cost, it will provide parents, students and the schools with useful information to identify areas that require more attention for post-secondary goals,” said Dr. Mitch von Gnechten, executive director of Secondary Schools. “The results of the test will help our students set goals for the next two years and will help increase college and career readiness.” See PSAT/NMSQT

Senior Yearbook Photographs
Senior Yearbook Photographs

Dear Students and Parents of the Class of 2015:
At Cilento Photography, we take great pride in the level of service we
provide to you and your school. Knowing some of you may have had a
difficult time getting photographed by the September 1st deadline (for a
complimentary yearbook session), we are waiving the $10 fee that would
normally be charged after this deadline.
(And if you recently paid for your yearbook session, we’d be happy to apply that to your order or offer you a refund.)
For us to best serve you and your school, if you have not been
photographed, we ask that you contact us right away to schedule your
appointment. Because availability becomes quite limited the closer we get
to your deadline, the sooner you can contact us, the greater flexibility we’ll
have to accommodate your schedule.
To schedule your appointment, please call us at 480-947-4467. We have a
variety of indoor and outdoor session types to choose from, or you may
take advantage of the complimentary yearbook session.
Finally, please note that we are experiencing extremely high volume
(both in calls and photography sessions) due to upcoming deadlines. We ask you
for your patience and thank you in advance for you for allowing us to serve you.
